Currently spending our third "overnight" weekend at the place. Furniture is a gradual process but we do have a real bed, a couch in the living room and barstools at the bar. The kitchen is coming a long so we are able to cook and eat without using disposables. We have been bringing our dog, Angel, with us and this weekend we brought the cat, Belle, as well. She did well in the car and hid for awhile in the house when we got here but settled right in. In fact she has more than earned her keep as she caught the pesky mouse that had been inhabiting the house since we discovered his first nest almost a month ago. You can be sure she will be a regular on our visits!
Still working out the limits of the solar system. Apparently we had a lightning strike a week ago which caused the system to shut down. Unfortunately, it did something to the a/c unit as it keeps running regardless of the setting on the thermostat. Fortunately the weather has cooled down and sleeping with the windows open is rather pleasant. Just have to get used to all the "noises" of being out in the country - crickets, frogs, coyotes and trains.
