Well, I am really behind on updating this - too much going on. The pad site for the house was completed two days ago so it is now ready for the builder to prepare for concrete work. (This picture was taken before all the dirt was leveled.) We also ended up getting a more substantial road/driveway out of the deal (at a cost of course!). Since there was a lot of rain off and on during the last 3 weeks we discovered the need for 3 culverts at various spots along the road so it wouldn't wash away with run-off. One more wrinkle also due to the amount of rain - the bridge over the creek on our county road washed out and is now CLOSED. Luckily, the bridge did not collapse and no one was hurt. Unfortunately, the county commissioner tells us it will be closed for 3-4 months while they replace it with a longer, wider concrete bridge - no more washouts! So we temporarily live on a cul-de-sac and construction crews will have less direct routes to get there. Sigh.....
